Beacon points way for 'text book' rescue

A feverish teenager stuck in a tramping hut in ranges south of
Taupo was in Hawke's Bay Hospital within 90 minutes of the alarm
being raised, after a "text book" helicopter rescue.

Narwhal 620 Samoa bound

19th October 2010 -
Apia Airport has taken delivery of a Narwhal 620 work boat. But
not before Boating NZ took one for a test drive.
Built in Spain, the 620 has just taken up a position at the Apia
Airport and will be fitted with four 30-man life rafts, ready to be
deployed if a plane goes down.

ACR EPIRB saves the day for father and son

19th August 2010 -
Craig Bunt and his 13-year-old son, Cas, were cold and wet after
being snowbound in a tent for 16 hours near the Lewis Pass when
they called for help on Tuesday morning. Christchurch's Westpac
rescue helicopter turned up an hour later.

A Southern Institute of Technology nursing graduate who fell 20
metres down the side of a mountain said he owes his life to a [ACR
